I think I will let the word “temple” get away from me for a minute. I’m an occupational health specialist (OHS). I’ve had a long and varied career. I’m a nurse with a specialty in occupational health. I teach occupational health and safety and do research. I’ve taught occupational health for over 20 years and have over 20 books in print that I have written about occupational health.
I think it is appropriate to start by recognizing that this is a highly specialized field. And by that I mean that it is extremely specialized and unique in that it is a very specific type of job. There are many healthcare professionals who do not work in an occupational health setting or are not trained in the field. As a result, most occupational health professionals are in a role that is not considered “occupational.” There are very few occupational health professionals who are certified to do so.
And that is why temple occupational health is so specialized. It is a specialized area of the healthcare field and is therefore very specialized. It can be very specialized because it is a very specific type of job. I’m sure you can think of other types of jobs that are not as specialized, but occupational health is one of them. It is a very specialized field. I hope you’re finding it helpful to understand that.
Yeah, there are many people who want to help temples in the hopes of reducing the risk of occupational diseases. At the same time, occupational health professionals have to deal with some crazy stuff that goes on in the temple, from medical emergencies, to accidents, to fires, to suicides. We have to make sure that the people who work in the temple get the right level of training, that the medical professionals who treat them are the right people, and the fire and accident units the right people.
The Temple Occupational Health Department at the University of Pennsylvania has a good training program for temples, and we think it is a good idea. Some temples have a lot of training requirements and can be a bit of an obstacle to getting hired, but we think the program is useful. We’re working on getting a training contract with the University of Minnesota so we can go there.
We’re in the process of getting into the University of Minnesota to start a program in temple occupational health. But we’re going to have to get another company to help find companies that can help us out. It’s not going to take a lot of money. We’re going to be talking to a lot of potential employers about the program, and the more companies we talk to, the more companies we can talk to that will want to take a chance on the program.
It’s the company we’re talking to that is the most likely to take a chance on the program. We found a job with a company that is more than happy to help us out and has a great reputation. They have all the equipment and the training necessary to do the program, and they are one of the few employers in the Twin Cities who would even consider hiring us.
For those of you that don’t know what temple occupational health is, it’s basically a kind of boot camp for the unemployed and part-time workers that helps them gain new skills and keep them out of the work force. It’s a sort of training program where people work 40 hours a week with little pay for 2.5 years to help them gain new skills and stay employed.
The Temple of Seton H. Oaks in St. Paul is one of the best programs I have ever heard of. Its pretty much the only place in the Twin Cities that offers this sort of training. I will say that the program is definitely not for the faint of heart. I have not personally been to the training center, but I have heard that it is pretty intense. I am not sure if I would want to attend it, but I would be interested to know what you guys think.
